The Pre-PT Course That

Helps Students Thrive

This Course Helps Students Pass The TWO Classes That Typically Cause Them To Withdraw or Be Eliminated From PT School By Using A Proven, Straight Forward Approach That Only Requires Focus & Your Dedicated Time Commitment

The Goal Of This Course

To prepare underrepresented students for the rigor of PT/PTA school by providing them with the knowledge needed to successfully complete anatomy and kinesiology at the graduate school level; these two subjects are the ones that traditionally cause students to withdraw or be removed from the aforementioned programs.

Hi, I'm Dr. Katherine Sylvester!

Going into physical therapy school, I felt like I was well prepared for anything academically because I

  • graduated from high school with over a 4.0 GPA
  • graduated from college in three years with a 3.81
  • studied as if I were getting paid for it and never had any issues with learning
  • made A’s in all the classes required to get into PT school

BUT I WAS STILL IN DANGER OF FAILING OUT OF PT SCHOOL BY THE 2ND SEMESTER BECAUSE I COULDN’T GRASP THE FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES NEEDED TO PASS KINESIOLOGY

This Course Exists So Students Don't Have To Struggle Like I Did

Licensed PTs will teach you how to:

  • digest knowledge at the pace with which you will need to in PT/PTA school
  • organize large amounts of information for easy storage, recall and use
  • effectively ask questions to fill gaps in knowledge
  • identify and optimize your learning style
  • incorporate other learning styles
  • manage your time

See What Others Are Saying About This Pre-PT Course

As an undergraduate student, the course I struggled with the most was anatomy and physiology. That truth became even more apparent when I began my DPT program. I was not prepared for the rigorous material we were expected to learn. I had to study longer, harder and more often for that class over any other. I made it through and passed but, it was not easy. When I heard about the Pre-PT program, I knew I wanted to be a part; because, I knew all too well the struggle of trying to keep up with challenging material. Being a TA meant that I could be there for students, who maybe, like me, had challenges with core content. The Pre-PT course was an amazing opportunity. It prepped the students not only with necessary content but, with study strategies that helped the students learn how to learn. I highly recommend this course for any student who struggled with foundational material in undergrad or just simply want to get a head start!

Miriah Smith

Doctor of Physical Therapy

I decided to do the Pre-PT course because I felt like my story was very similar to Dr. Katherine Sylvester. I received great grades throughout my undergrad and had a confidence unaware of the beast called grad school! However, I had to understand that PT school is an entirely different ball game and the stats of people who looked like me getting to the end of the program were small. So, to prepare I joined the class! And it was definitely not a walk in the park, but it gave me a strength that was beyond what I had been given/experienced before! It allowed me to see the type of coursework, the challenge of the coursework and the extent of it early. Furthermore, a helpful tip I took away from the course was how to efficiently take notes and study material! I am grateful for my time in the course and grateful for the people who made it happen!

Ese Ataga

DPT Student

Hi, my name is Devina Jhala and I am extremely delighted to write this little blurb about the Pre-PT course that Dr. Katherine created. When I got invited to join this course, I was still coming to terms with my acceptance into PT school and whether I would thrive as a physical therapy student. The course and the beautiful humans that took their time to mentor and support us definitely helped build up my confidence. The course was rigorous, but it made me feel less behind in PT school, since many of the concepts and information was already introduced to me in advance. Sitting in classes, I was able to look

back over my pre-PT course notes and was amazed to see how much we had already covered, to the point that I was mostly reviewing information, rather than feeling lost in classes. The course kept me on my toes and made me understand that PT school is not easy at all, but with accountability and the right support, I have been able to continue my physical therapy journey. Thank you Dr. Katherine for being a constant cheerleader and for this challenging yet important experience in my physical therapy career. Also, thank you to Dr. Sidrah and Dr. Taylor for being great teachers and mentors.
